NPI Registry Lookup
CredFolio integrates directly with the NPPES NPI Registry (National Plan and Provider Enumeration System) maintained by CMS to help you quickly import your professional information.
What is NPI Lookup?
When you enter your 10-digit NPI number, CredFolio automatically retrieves your verified information from the official CMS registry, including:
Name - Your registered provider name
Credentials - MD, DO, RN, NP, PA, etc.
Practice Address - Your registered practice location
Taxonomy Codes - Your medical specialties and classifications
Identifiers - State license numbers and other identifiers
Benefit: Import your profile data in seconds instead of manually entering your credentials. This reduces errors and ensures accuracy.
How to Use NPI Lookup
Go to Profile or start the onboarding flow
Enter your 10-digit NPI number
Review the imported data and confirm
Edit any fields if needed before saving
NPI Registry Tab
After importing your NPI, you can view your full registry data in Profile → NPI Registry. This shows:
Basic provider information
All associated addresses
Taxonomy codes and specialties
Other identifiers on file
When the data was last updated
Data Source: All NPI data comes directly from the CMS NPPES Registry (npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov). CredFolio does not modify this data.
Social Login Providers
CredFolio supports signing in with your existing accounts for convenience and security.

Managing Connected Accounts
You can connect multiple social accounts to your CredFolio profile:
Go to Settings → Security
Find the Connected Accounts section
Click a provider button to connect a new account
To disconnect, click Unlink on an existing account
Important: You must have at least one sign-in method (social account or email/password). You cannot unlink your only remaining login option.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is NPI lookup free?
Yes, NPI lookup is free for all CredFolio users. The NPI Registry is a public resource maintained by CMS.
What if my NPI shows outdated information?
NPI data is maintained by CMS, not CredFolio. To update your registry information, visit NPPES directly. Once updated there, you can refresh your data in CredFolio.
Can I use CredFolio without an NPI?
Yes. NPI lookup is optional and primarily benefits licensed healthcare providers. You can manually enter your information instead.
Does unlinking a social account delete my CredFolio data?
No. Unlinking a social account only removes that sign-in method. Your CredFolio data remains intact. To delete your data, visit Privacy Settings.
