Appearance & Display Settings
CredFolio lets you personalize how the application looks and displays information. This article covers the appearance settings available in your account.

Accessing Appearance Settings
To access your appearance settings:
Click your profile picture in the top-right corner
Select Settings
Click the Appearance tab
Theme
Choose how CredFolio looks on your screen. You can select from three options:
Theme | Description |
Light | Bright interface with white backgrounds |
Dark | Dark interface that's easier on the eyes in low light |
System | Automatically matches your device's theme setting |
Tip: System mode is great if your device automatically switches between light and dark throughout the day.
Your theme preference is saved and synced across all your devices when you're logged in.
Timezone
Your timezone affects how dates and deadlines are displayed throughout CredFolio. This is important for:
License expiration dates - Ensuring accurate deadline tracking
CME cycle dates - Correct renewal period calculations
Expiration alerts - Timely notifications before deadlines
Select your timezone from the dropdown. Timezones are organized by region (Americas, Europe, Asia, etc.) for easy navigation.
Note: By default, CredFolio uses your browser's detected timezone. You can override this if needed.
Date Format
Choose how dates are displayed throughout the application:

MM/DD/YYYY | 01/27/2026 (US format) |
DD/MM/YYYY | 27/01/2026 (International format) |
This affects how dates appear in document details, license information, and CME tracking.
Onboarding Checklist
When you first sign up, CredFolio shows a profile completion checklist on your dashboard. If you dismissed it but want to see it again:
Go to Settings β Appearance
Scroll down to the Onboarding section
Click "Show Profile Checklist Again"
The checklist will reappear on your dashboard to help guide you through profile setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my theme sync across devices?
Yes. Your theme preference is saved to your account and will apply when you log in on any device.
Why is my dark mode not working?
If you have "System" selected, make sure your device's system settings are set to dark mode. On some browsers, this setting may not be detected correctly. Try selecting "Dark" directly.
Can I change the language?
CredFolio is currently available in English only. Additional language support is planned for future releases.
Do appearance settings affect my documents?
No. Appearance settings only affect how the app looks on your screen. Your documents and exported reports are not affected.
