Sharing Credentials with CredShare™
CredShare™ lets you securely share your professional credentials with hospitals, employers, and credentialing offices. Recipients can view your documents without creating a CredFolio account.

What is CredShare™?
CredShare™ allows you to create secure, shareable links to your credential documents. When you share a package:
Recipients get a secure link to view your documents
You control which documents to include
You can set expiration dates and access limits
You get notified when recipients access your documents
You can revoke access anytime
Plan Requirements: CredShare™ is available on Pro (3 packages) and Premium (unlimited) plans. Free tier users cannot create share packages.
Creating a Share Package
To create a new share package:
Go to CredShare™ from the main navigation
Click the "New Package" button
Configure your package settings (see below)
Select the documents to include
Set protection options (optional)
Click "Create Package"
Package Settings Tab
Configure basic package information:
Package name — A descriptive name (e.g., "Hospital Credentialing - January 2026")
Recipient email — Optional, for verification purposes
Expiration — Set when the link stops working (7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or custom)
Access limit — Maximum number of times the link can be accessed
Documents Tab
Select which documents to include in your package:
Browse by category (Licenses, Certifications, CME, etc.)
Search for specific documents
Select multiple documents at once
Only confirmed documents can be shared
Protection Tab
Add security for sensitive documents:
Per-document protection — Require OTP verification for specific documents
Default protection — DEA certificates and insurance documents are protected by default
Notifications Tab
Choose when to receive alerts:
First access — When recipient first opens the package
Document viewed — When specific documents are viewed
Download attempts — When recipient tries to download
Protection Options
CredShare™ includes multiple layers of security:
OTP Verification
For sensitive documents, recipients must verify their email with a one-time code before viewing.
Watermarking
Documents display a watermark showing the recipient's email and access timestamp.
Download Prevention
By default, recipients can view but not download documents. You can enable downloads if needed.
Expiration & Access Limits
Set automatic expiration or limit total accesses to prevent unauthorized sharing.
Managing Your Packages
The CredShare™ page shows all your packages with status filters:
Status | Meaning |
Active | Package is accessible and hasn't expired |
Expired | Package has passed its expiration date |
Exhausted | Package has reached its access limit |
Revoked | You manually revoked access |
Archived | Package is hidden but preserved |
Package Actions
For each package, you can:
Copy link — Copy the share link to clipboard
View details — See access history and included documents
Edit — Modify settings, documents, or expiration
Revoke — Immediately disable access
Archive — Hide from main view without deleting
Access Activity
Click on any package to see detailed access logs:
When the package was accessed
Which documents were viewed
Verification status
Geographic location (approximate)
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I share my credentials with an employer?
To share credentials with an employer, go to CredShare™, click "New Package", select the documents they need, and send them the generated link. You can include their email address so they receive verification codes for protected documents.
Can recipients download my documents?
By default, no. Recipients can view documents in the browser but cannot download them. You can enable downloads in the package settings if needed.
What happens when a package expires?
When a package expires, the share link stops working. Recipients see a message that the link has expired. You can create a new package if they need continued access.
How do I revoke access?
To revoke access to a share package, go to CredShare™, find the package, click the menu (three dots), and select "Revoke". Access is immediately disabled.
How many packages can I create?
Package limits depend on your subscription:
Free: No share packages
Pro: 3 active packages
Premium: Unlimited packages
Can I share the same document in multiple packages?
Yes. You can include the same document in multiple share packages. Each package has its own settings and access controls.
