Having trouble uploading documents to CredFolio? This guide covers common issues and solutions to get your credentials uploaded successfully.

Upload Errors
"File too large" error
If your file is too large to upload, here are the solutions:

Maximum file size is 50 MB
Compress the PDF using a tool like Adobe Acrobat or SmallPDF
If it's a photo, reduce the image resolution
Split multi-page documents if possible
"Invalid file type" error
CredFolio accepts these file formats:
PDF (recommended for best results)
JPG/JPEG
PNG
WebP

Convert your document to PDF using a free tool
If you have a Word doc or other format, export/save as PDF
Take a screenshot or photo and save as JPG/PNG
Upload fails or times out
If uploads consistently fail:

Try uploading a smaller file to test

Processing Issues
Document stuck at "Processing"
If your document has been processing for more than 5 minutes:

Don't close the browser tab during upload
Large PDFs (many pages) take longer to process
Refresh the page and check if processing completed
If still stuck, delete and re-upload the document
Processing failed error
If processing fails completely:

Try re-uploading the document
If it's a scan, ensure it's clear and not blurry
AI Extraction Problems
Wrong document type detected
If the AI classified your document incorrectly:

During the confirmation step, you can change the document category. Click the category dropdown and select the correct type.
Incorrect dates or numbers extracted
If extracted data is wrong:

Edit the fields during confirmation before saving. All extracted data is editable. After confirming, you can also edit from the Document Manager.
Missing information not extracted
If important details weren't captured:

Manually enter the missing information in the confirmation form
Ensure the original document is clear and legible
PDF documents generally produce better extraction than photos
Avoid documents with heavy watermarks or backgrounds
Tip: For best AI extraction results, use clear PDF documents. Scanned documents should be high quality without skew or blur.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I upload more documents?
You may have reached your plan's document limit. Free tier allows 10 documents, Pro allows 60, and Premium is unlimited. Upgrade your plan or delete old documents to make room.
Can I upload the same document twice?
Yes, but you'll see a duplicate warning. CredFolio uses content hashing to detect duplicates. You can proceed with the upload if needed.
How do I re-process a document?
From the Document Manager, find the document and select "Reanalyze" from the menu. This runs AI extraction again.
What if my document is in a foreign language?
CredFolio's AI can extract data from documents in many languages, but English documents produce the most accurate results. You may need to manually correct extracted data for non-English documents.
