This article explains how to manage your payment methods and how CredFolio protects your payment information.

Accepted Payment Methods

CredFolio accepts all major credit cards through our secure payment processor, Stripe:

  • Visa

  • Mastercard

  • American Express

  • Discover

Note: Debit cards with credit card logos (Visa, Mastercard) are also accepted.

Managing Your Card

Adding or Updating Your Card

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Account

  2. In the Billing section, click "Manage" next to Payment Method

  3. You'll be redirected to the secure Stripe portal

  4. Add a new card or update your existing payment method

  5. Save your changes

When to Update Your Card

Update your payment method if:

  • Your card is expiring soon

  • You received a new card number

  • You want to use a different card

  • A previous payment failed

Payment Method Status

In Settings β†’ Account, you'll see your current payment status:

Card on file

You have an active payment method

Add when you upgrade

Free plan users (no card required)

Add via trial banner

Trial users should add card through the banner

Not required

Complimentary access (admin/employee)

Payment Security

How We Protect Your Information

CredFolio uses Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor, to handle all billing securely.

What this means for you:

  • CredFolio never stores your full card number - Only Stripe has access

  • PCI DSS compliance - Stripe meets the highest security standards

  • Encrypted transmission - All payment data is encrypted in transit

  • Secure portal - Card updates happen in Stripe's secure environment

What CredFolio Can See

For your security, CredFolio only has access to:

  • Last 4 digits of your card (for identification)

  • Card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)

  • Expiration month and year

  • Payment status (successful, failed)

We never see your full card number, CVV, or billing address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to save my card?

Yes. Your card information is stored securely by Stripe, not by CredFolio. Stripe is PCI Level 1 certified, the highest level of payment security certification.

Can I use PayPal or bank transfer?

Currently, CredFolio only accepts credit and debit cards. We may add additional payment methods in the future.

Why do I need to go to an external site to update my card?

For security, payment information is managed directly through Stripe's secure portal. This ensures your card details are never transmitted through CredFolio's servers.

Will I be charged immediately when I add a card?

If you're upgrading from Free to a paid plan, you'll be charged when you complete the upgrade. If you're just updating your payment method on an existing subscription, you won't be charged until your next billing cycle.
